Visit

The Chairman and Members of the Commission visited the Marine Department in November 2022. The visit has facilitated useful exchanges on various issues concerning Civil Service appointments, performance management, staff development and succession planning of the Department. The briefing on the work of the Department and the guided tour to the Vessel Traffic Centre, the Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre, the Government Dockyard including the Marine Department Training Centre have greatly enhanced the Commission’s understanding of the Department’s work and operation as well as the vital role it plays in ensuring safe operation of the port and all Hong Kong waters as well as safeguarding the quality of the Hong Kong registered ships.
